EYFS staff here work fantastically as a team.
The school’s relationship policy informs all
interactions between staff, children and families,
delivering a hugely successful trauma-informed
approach.
Before assigning any classes, the team spends
the first three weeks of foundation learning
about the children and observing the friendships
they make. The team developed a holistic
curriculum that invests in all seven areas of the
Early Years curriculum, with children’s happiness
and wellbeing at the heart, and high levels of
autonomy and choice.
Staff take time together to prepare for each
day and always to debrief, representing
collaboration at its best. There is a real sense of
equality, with all roles respected and cherished
and the sense that no one could do their job
without the others.
Children with complex needs, including hearing
impairments, are able to blossom in this
environment where differences are recognised
and celebrated. All practice is considered and
adjusted, including the use of sign language,
to ensure that all children can meet their full
potential.
