Those who submitted a completed entry will be notified of the outcome by 31st March 2023. Those who are not shortlisted will be sent a certificate by mid-June , with the remainder moving on to judging visits.
In 2023 we will be undertaking virtual judging visits .
Our judges are volunteers, and judging is an independent and peer-led process. The majority of the panel members are practising teachers and many are Teaching Award winners. The panel also includes representation from organisations across the educational spectrum.
We are grateful to these dedicated professionals who give their time to ensure a smooth and credible process for those involved and to help celebrate the amazing people who work in our schools. We need to do this more than ever in this current climate.

Nominators and/or EY settings, School / College leaders of shortlisted nominees will be contacted by the judges between March 13th and March 24th 2023 to arrange a judging visit. The judging process is detailed below.
Judges will visit all shortlisted nominees via video calls for 2 hours.
During this time they like to spend time with the nominee, members of the senior leadership team, including the Headteacher, other colleagues, parents and pupils, and any relevant external stakeholders. In the case of Headteacher nominees, they also like to meet with the Chair of governors.
A week of celebrating the education profession, culminating in National Thank a Teacher Day on Wednesday 21st June 2023, when the full list of Silver Winners will be revealed. A list of certificate recipients will also be published on our website.
Each entry is reviewed and the following statuses are awarded. We strongly encourage all schools and colleges to celebrate their nominee's achievements in school/college on National Thank a Teacher Day:
* Nominee Certificate
* Nominee recognised for Excellent performance - Certificate of Excellence Certificate
* Nominee recognised for Outstanding performance - Highly Commended Certificate
* Bronze Winner - Bronze Winner Certificate and Teaching Award Bronze Winner Lapel Pin
* Silver Winner - Silver Winner Certificate, Teaching Award Silver Winner Lapel Pin, Silver Winner Trophy, Invitation to Silver Winners' celebratory afternoon tea and to the UK Ceremony. Silver Winners are also finalists for the Gold Award in their category.
*Gold Winner - All Silver Winner prizes listed above plus Gold Winner Certificate, Gold Lapel Pin and Gold Trophy. Gold Winners are the overall winner of their category.
In July 2023 , all Silver Award winners and their guests will be invited to attend an afternoon tea reception to celebrate their achievements.
In November 2023, category Gold Award winners will be announced at the Pearson National Teaching Awards UK ceremony, attended by all Silver Winners.
