Two Plymouth Primary Schools Celebrate Silver Awards on National ‘Thank a Teacher Day’

Two Plymouth primary schools have something extra to celebrate on this national ‘Thank a Teacher Day’ (19th June). Marine Academy Primary in St Budeaux,  part of the Ted Wragg Trust, and Tor Bridge Primary, part of The Inspire Multi Academy Trust, in Plymouth have been announced as two of only a handful of Pearson National Teaching Silver Award winners from across the UK.

Both schools have been recognised in the Making a Difference Primary School of the Year category. A remarkable achievement for the city of Plymouth, as it is highly unusual to have two schools in the same city win awards.

The Pearson National Teaching Awards, known as the Oscars of the Education sector, were founded in 1998 by Lord Puttnam to recognise the life-changing impact schools can have on the lives of young people.
