2020 and 2021 have been unique years! They’ve seen schools switching to online learning and many going above and beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During lockdown so many schools have supported children and families across the UK, from developing remote learning, to delivering emergency food parcels in their communities. They deserve to be recognised and celebrated, so we’re delighted to launch The Award for Lockdown Hero, an award designed with these everyday heroes in mind.  Maybe you know a Lockdown Hero who delivered amazing teaching despite the virtual barrier? Or a school that made a real difference to the emotional wellbeing of your family and community? If so, we’d love you to nominate your teacher or school!

To nominate an individual or school, just tell us how they have made a difference to you, by answering the 4 key questions below. We will then email the Headteacher and invite them to enter the Awards.

The 4 key questions:

  1. Teaching & Learning. How have they kept learning engaging for you / your child?
  2. Making a difference. How have they supported you and your family in other ways?
  3. Supporting the wider community. What have they done to help other people in your local community and how have they encouraged you to help / support others?
  4. Wellbeing. How have they helped you not to worry about the Covid-19 pandemic and tried to make sure you are always OK?
