The Catering and Hospitality team at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College delivers technical education to young people aged 16 and over, enabling them to progress from Entry Level to Level 3, gaining qualifications in professional cookery, food and beverage service, and supervisory skills.
The team comprises three chef lecturers, two front of house lecturers, and three catering technicians.
In addition to delivering the curriculum, they support the personal development of their students and run a customer-facing commercial restaurant and a cafe at the Nuneaton campus serving more than 200 covers per week. They create an environment in which competing becomes second nature, leading to significant achievements on a range of national platforms.
The impact of this team’s well-developed ethos has led students to employment with prestigious establishments including Ritz Hotel London and Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, and to owning and running their own successful establishments.
