The 2021 ‘Lockdown Hero’ Award for Outstanding Learner and Community Support – Frequently asked questions

Will the person I am entering know that I am doing so? 

We won’t inform your entrant that they are being entered for any awards. If you would like to tell them however, you are free to do so.


Can I enter someone anonymously?

I am afraid not. We need your details so that we can contact you in the event of them being shortlisted.

Can I enter more than one person in my school?

Yes, you can, but you must ensure that each entry is unique and personalised to each entrant.


Can I enter a teaching team or a support team?

Yes, you can. The Lockdown Hero award is open to anyone at all working in a school. Just ensure you write against each of the 4 criertia on the entry form.

Can entries be made for people working in all schools in the UK? 

Yes, we accept entries from all schools and colleges in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland .

What is the deadline for entries?

All entries must be submitted online by midnight on Friday 12th March 2021.

When do I find out if the person/team I have entered has been successful?

First round results will be announced by the end of June 2021, and the final UK winner result will be announced by the end of November 2021.



What is the next stage? 

Your entry will now be read by our team of assessors.

If your entry is approved, it will be sent to judges for shortlisting.

Our judges will read all shortlisted entries, and if your nominee is shortlisted for a judging visit you will from our judges by the end of May.

They will conduct a judging visit either face to face in school, or virtually, depending on the situation with the pandemic.

The senior leadership team will be informed of your result by the end of June 2021.
