Renowned for its nurturing and inclusive practice, this Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team works together exceptionally well to provide its youngest pupils with the best care and education. Staff work closely with parents and carers and other professionals to ensure that their provision is accessible to all and, in particular, they offer a high level of support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families.
They are also committed to sharing expertise with others, regularly inviting students and staff from other settings into the school. They network with other EYFS colleagues and help to deliver training to the wider EYFS community. The staff are skilled in the development of children’s communication and language, spending hours researching and creating their own resources and activities to support this crucial area of development. In the Nursery the staff teach the “sign of the week” to help children confidently use sign language to communicate with their peers.
