Twice judged ‘Inadequate‘ by OFSTED, once in ‘special measures‘, never above average national outcomes, Sprites is a school that knows no bounds and lives up to its motto of ‘Fearless‘. Current external validation and data show a stunning rise, but it‘s the daily diet that marks the school out, where love and nurture shine brightest. Its exemplary inclusive practice provides a local haven, transforming the lives of young carers, refugees, children with additional needs and those at risk of exclusion. Extending its educational remit, community programmes have enabled parents to upskill and find a pathway into employment, while being a teacher training hub has supported new teachers into the profession. The school’s variety of enrichment ranges from lively staff panto and flashmob to colour run, from camping on the field to visiting Cambridge University, from Easter bonnet parades to touring the Houses of Parliament — all this and more to enhance pupils’ cultural experiences, aspirations and joy for life.
