Shamshad Azad is the Design and Technology Lead. He took on cooking and nutrition as it was considered a key priority for the school, due to being in one of the most deprived areas of the country.
Shamshad has built a number of partnerships with local businesses, restaurants and nutritionists to help his pupils learn more about cooking and healthy eating, and even run sessions with local parents to help them understand how to prepare nutritious meals. He also set up and runs a Fuels for Schools project selling healthy food donated by local supermarkets to families at discounted prices.
His colleagues say he makes a real difference to the lives of children and their families on a day to day basis.
