Ron has been headteacher of The Warwick School for 12 years and has made an enormous positive impact on staff, students and the local community. When he joined, the school was in the bottom 5% in the country and behaviour described as ‘dangerously out of control’. He worked tirelessly to nurture a ‘Warwickian’ attitude to learning which spread quickly, resulting in a dramatic improvement in attitudes and behaviour regarded as outstanding.

Ron believes that all students should be given the chance to succeed even if the mainstream academic route is not necessarily suitable and this has been one of the key principles for how he has led the school. He is a governor on many education boards and has cultivated collaborations with local schools and headteachers to help improve the consistency of the standard of education.
