Ray’s teaching career began over 40 years ago and during this time, he has influenced the lives of literally thousands of children, as a teacher, deputy, lecturer at the University of Hull and headteacher at Swanland Primary. At school, he sets high but achievable goals for staff and pupils alike and sees the innate potential in everyone. He wants everyone to succeed and provides all the necessary guidance and skills to achieve this goal. He is an inspirational leader who retirement this year means that he will be greatly missed. The school’s vision statement is ‘Value, Nurture and Fulfilment, through Support, Harmony and Praise’ and this reflects Ray’s inclusive and creative approach to education. He has worked tirelessly for his school and his education community and built an exceptional school that is admired, loved and appreciated by his whole school community.
