Rachel is a champion for young people with additional needs and an inspiration to her colleagues. As Manager of Kenton School’s Communication Disorder Additionally Resourced Centre, coupled with her role as Post 16 Tutor, Rachel adopts a pupil-centred approach in all she does, working with parents and outside agencies to ensure they needs of all students are met.
Rachel’s work with the Young Enterprise Development Programme has broadened the horizons of many Kenton students, exposing them to situations which develop their social skills, teamwork and self-confidence. As a result of this, Kenton students have received regional recognition across the North East, having successfully been named ‘best stall’, ‘best company’ and ‘best financial model’ in recent years.
