This school promotes gospel values. Its distinctive Catholic ethos is fostered by prayer and worship. Staff are committed to helping the development of students spiritually, academically, physically, personally, socially and emotionally.

Health and wellbeing are priorities in this area of significant deprivation. A Family Support Hub was set up to support the emotional needs of young people at a whole-school level and provide access to a range of external agencies. Staff proactively adopted a holistic approach to address students’ social, financial and learning needs, securing a £1000 breakfast club grant from Kellogg’s. Disadvantaged pupils are given the chance to start the school day with a meal when they may not otherwise have access to one. The school was recently awarded its first prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag Award. Senior pupils in the school’s Eco group were praised for their work in making the school and grounds more sustainable. Following COP26, S1 they engaged in high profile projects including ‘Keep Bellsmyre Beautiful’.
