Mark Lambert is the principal driving force of highly effective SEND provision and Additional Learning Support (ALS) delivered by Tyne Coast College.
As manager of SEND and ALS, Mark oversees work which supports around 160 learners aged 16 to 25 who have autism and other learning difficulties, in a department recognised as a regional leader. The personalised study programmes he has introduced focus on students’ social and emotional skills, independence or employability, helping them build skills for independent living.
Mark has created a vibrant and focused learning environment in which a skilled and committed teaching team supports learners to achieve highly positive outcomes. His dedication to supporting students to gain learning that develops maximum opportunity has led to success rates of 95.4 per cent and a 100 per cent retention rate.
