Maire Thompson started Malone College in 1998 as a PE teacher before progressing to Head of Year, Senior Teacher and Headteacher.
Ms Thompson’s passion and dedication to provide the best possible future for her students is relentless. She works tirelessly with local community leaders, politicians and businesses to ensure students have opportunities to succeed in school life and beyond. Ms Thompson actively encourages students from disadvantaged and minority backgrounds to attend Malone College, transforming it into the most culturally diverse school in Northern Ireland.
Maire’s enthusiasm and optimism to improve the lives of students has transformed Malone College into a vibrant learning environment that is frequently referred to as an example of good practice by the Inspectorate.
