Lynn Kerr is a dedicated SENCO who has tirelessly worked to support and develop students within her school. She helped to launch a specialist Autism Unit with an application to the local authority.
Lynn’s approach to teaching has always been pupil-centred and she recognises the need to partner with each family to ensure a consistent approach to meeting the varying needs of every child. When she became SENCo she said her dreams had been fulfilled. She is an advocate for all students in Glengormley High School, and all staff recognise Lynn as someone who is entirely dedicated to the pupils and will go over and above her duties to make sure that every pupil fulfils their potential.
Alongside leading capacity building in SEN and Trauma Informed practices in school, Lynn is currently completing a Master’s degree in Special Educational Needs at the University of Ulster. She often says the pupils inspire her, but instead she inspires our whole school community.
