Miss McDonald has taught many special children who have emotional and behavioural needs who often cannot cope in mainstream school and would be excluded. These children transfer to her unit, often very troubled, very angry, being violent and she changes their lives along with giving families support by giving many extra hours of her time.
Miss McDonald gets outstanding results from these children, never forgetting that she needs to educate them too. Most of all – the pupils and their parents love her. She also finds time to be a great staff colleague and instigates lots of fun in the Academy. She loves her job and her pupils and is a real champion for those children who society writes off so quickly
