Jen Sims began her career teaching in a deprived area in the North West in 1985. Jen’s first SLT role was at Netherhall School in Cambridge before joining Saffron Walden County High School in 2001 as Assistant headteacher. She is now Senior Deputy headteacher, responsible for student achievement and pastoral support, believing passionately that students should be supported holistically throughout their education in an inclusive environment.
A consistently brilliant RE teacher for 33 years, Jen has acted as coach, mentor and role model to so many teachers and students. Colleagues describe her as a ‘leadership role model’ and students as being the person they trust who made a difference to their lives. She is inspiring, caring and respected by all.
