Fiona began her career in film and television and was inspired to go into teaching after working at an educational film company and visiting schools across the UK. Due to her love of technology, once she began teaching, she led a First Lego League club and developed a real passion for teaching coding and robotics.
In her role as an Acting Principal Teacher, Fiona helped to develop and lead a progressive coding pathway as part of a wider project. She has trained and supported staff to enable pupils from nursery to P7 to tackle open-ended coding challenges. Fiona is also keenly aware of the importance of digital wellbeing and has led the school to gain the Digital School’s Special Recognition for Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety, where pupils, staff and families are supported to enable technology to be used safely and confidently.
