Eden Academy Trust’s Family Services Team

Working alongside the Trust’s schools, the Family Services Team provide emotional, practical and social support to strengthen relationships and communication, so families and their children get the best they can from their school. When Covid forced schools to close, the team was the driving force behind the Trust’s ability to rapidly identify those families who would be in the most immediate and urgent financial and emotional need. During lockdown they maintained an invaluable link for families, not only with schools but also with social services. Through their efforts, they created a lifeline that prevented many families from tipping into crisis, safe in the knowledge that although schools were locked down, the Family Services Team were always there as a listening ear, as a means practical support and as an invaluable safety net.
