Dawn has worked with children with SEN/D for 25 years, developing from a school Welfare Assistant to recently being promoted to the school’s Senior Leadership Team.
Dawn’s passion for SEN was instigated by having a daughter with complex needs, and her career has seen her work in various mainstream and specialist settings. Dawn is driven by the belief that every child deserves to have their full potential recognised and realised, and that barriers to this personal and academic fulfilment should be challenged and overcome.
Empowering the staff in her team to share this inclusive vision is crucial to every child that comes through the school doors. Over the years she has supported children with challenges in literacy, social communication, physical impairments, emotional regulation and other difficulties through school and into successful and fulfilled adult lives.
