Carolyn is CEO and founder of TMET, The Mead Educational Trust. A longstanding National Leader of Education, Carolyn has over 30 years’ teaching experience. She was Executive Principal at Rushey Mead Academy, which achieved an Ofsted rating of ‘Outstanding’ three times. The academy also featured in Ofsted’s publication of ‘Twelve Outstanding Secondary Schools – Excelling against the Odds’ and was awarded the International School award three times.

Carolyn served for three years on the Teaching Schools Council, two of these as Vice Chair. She was a founder member of Challenge Partners, developing peer reviews and a network of excellence across England, and she sits on the Challenge Partners EAG.  She was in the British Council Educational Advisory Group for eight years and was on the National STEM Centre Advisory Board. She has been actively involved in MFL research and curriculum development. She also spent four years as a member of the NCTL Professional Conduct panels.

Carolyn’s extensive school improvement experience was recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list, 2013, when she was awarded a CBE.
