Ashleigh Sinclair works in an Autism Specific Provision with incredibly vulnerable young people, and regularly goes above and beyond to give her pupils the best education possible. This includes designing Christmas pumpkins for a less threatening Halloween, organising trips to museums, raising funds through pupil pop-ups and designing a series of Lego therapy sessions for challenging pupils.
The pupils she teaches have complex autism and can display challenging behaviour. Ashleigh works collaboratively with parents, residential staff and carers to ensure consistency of approach across all settings, and has implemented a range of approaches to support her staff team, such as Wellbeing Wednesdays. Colleagues say Ashleigh’s enthusiasm and passion for teaching shine through at every opportunity.
