As Headteacher, Ann has transformed this school into a place where people want to come to work and where students want to come to learn. Throughout the pandemic and lockdowns, she placed the learners at the heart of every decision she made. Her caring nature even saw the school adapt the times of the school day to ensure that students had regular breaks and so that families could eat lunch together when home learning was being delivered.
Even in her 39th year of teaching, Ann continues to develop her thinking and her practice as a leader and teacher. Her passion for improving the life chances of young people is, according to her colleagues, relentless and refreshing. They describe Ann as an outstanding leader with a laudable ability to combine compassion, warmth and kindness in everything she does. She has an ‘inspirational’ leadership style that brings transformation at all levels of the organisation.
