A team of talented teachers proved they have the recipe for success when they won a prestigious Pearson Teaching Silver Award.
The teachers, from Redbridge College’s catering and hospitality department, received the award on Friday, June 16, at their Chadwell Heath campus training kitchen Rouge – which develops students as trainee chefs and service staff.
Principal Linnia Khemdoudi praised the team for making Rouge a successful learning environment for students.
“We are absolutely delighted that the team have won this fantastic award,” said Linnia. “It was very difficult to keep the news a secret from the team!
“It is wonderful recognition of their hard work and professionalism and a great example of the power of further education in helping to change and inspire lives.”
The team will now compete for one of 11 Gold Plato Awards at the UK final of the Pearson Teaching Award, called the Oscars for teaching, on October 22.
