  • Outstanding Headteacher

I have been in Education for over 40 years and I have never met anyone as committed to young people and her community as Isabel. I cannot think of any superlative that would do her career justice. There will be a gaping hole in the educational leadership of Inverclyde when Isabel finally decides to retire, which I hope will not be for a long time yet. I cannot think of anyone more suitable to be nominated for this award.

Your work in uniting all schools, denominational and non denominational is legendary and I thank you for that. It has been a pleasure and an honour working with you over the last 25 years and I'll never forget the sight of you sitting on your suitcase in Grand Central Station New York supporting the Inverclyde Juvenile Pipe Band and then having to rush and catch your plane by the skin of your teeth. Mrs Lind, (such is my respect for your I have never feel easy in addressing you by your given name!) I have been in awe of you since joining Education Services and have admired your dedication to getting the best you can from staff and pupils alike. I can regale everyone with stories of the challenges you have faced in developing children in your care (care being the operative word) and I have now ceased being surprised when watching a child who many may have given up on, walking out of school with their head held high and trumpeting success because of your efforts. I am humbled by your commitment and dedication as well as your tenacity, but most of all by your kindness and never giving up on any child. Well done, you really deserve this award.
