Party time with Tony Blair

Tony Blair met Teaching Award winners who've been recognised throughout his term in office at a celebration for public service staff at Lancaster House last month.
Patrick Hume, Janet Armstrong, Tabitha Sawyer, Baldev Singh, Sarah Brigg, Pam Roberts, Mike Ullmann, Claire Davidson and Icee Birch.
Modern foreign languages teachers Chris Harte and Paul Keogh engaged the outgoing PM in French conversation. “I was very impressed with Tony’s accent,” said Chris later. “In fact I went so far as to offer him a job!”
Reverting to English, Paul also tackled Mr Blair about ‘testing, testing, testing’ – a subject his ‘over-tested’ pupils wanted him to raise. “His response was very good-natured but ended with ‘How long have you got?’ I can’t complain because it was a fantastic evening.”
