Changes at the top
Baroness Shirley Williams of Crosby has joined the Teaching Awards as the new chair of the national judging panel.
Alongside Shirley Williams, leading headteacher William Atkinson is confirmed as deputy chair of the national judges. Now in his third headship, at Phoenix High School in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, William's new year started with a flourish when Phoenix emerged in The Guardian as the most improved secondary school in England, given progress over the past three years.
