Every year Teaching Award judges recognise and celebrate literally hundreds of outstanding headteachers, teachers, teaching assistants and governors and there are now over a thousand Teaching Award winners across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Teaching Awards Fellows are Teaching Award winners and those who currently act as judges for the awards. The group represents an exceptional cross section of leading education professionals and those who have a profound interest in education.The Teaching Awards’ mission is to celebrate excellence in education and share expertise. We aim to fulfil the second part of our ambition through the network of Fellows which was established this year.The Teaching Awards is always keen to hear from Fellows. In June 2008 three Teaching Awards Winners were given the chance to take part in a CfBT Education Trust funded project in Hyderabad India. The project was designed to allow the winners to experience the diverse educational provisions available and to experience the culture of Southern India. Combining school visits with opportunities for staff inset, sharing of Ideas between Indian and British educationalists from a very broad range of socially and economically diverse segments of a very pluralistic India
