I owe so much of what I've done to my fantastic teachers at school and at university and it's exciting to join in celebrating what is probably the most important profession of them all.'

What does the Teaching Awards Trust do?
Everyday at the Teaching Awards Trust, we see amazing teachers, headteachers and teaching assistants who help students to achieve exceptional results, both academically and socially, often against the odds.
This is exactly what inspired Lord Puttnam to start the awards back in 1997 after spending time in classrooms around the country. Today, we're not just about giving awards, we are a charity that works in education to help young people realise their potential and to do this, we have two main projects.
Thank a teacher
This website gives young people a voice by enabling them publicly to thank a teacher who has made a significant difference in their lives. Find out more about Thank a Teacher...
Teaching Awards
With all of these teachers being thanked, we know there are some exceptional ones in there who deserve a bit of recognition so we identify and celebrate them in our prestigious award programme. Find out more about the Teaching Awards…
